What is the National Geothermal Collaborative?
A consensus-based collaborative formed in 2002, the National
Geothermal Collaborative (NGC) is comprised of representatives from
electric utilities, public lands managers, geothermal developers,
sustainable energy advocates, Tribes, and state and federal government
sectors interested in the development of efficient, environmentally and
economically sound use of the geothermal resources. The Collaborative
works through a central steering committee and workgroups. Workgroups
convene around issues identified as important to address, and include
members of the Steering Committee and others with relevant substantive
knowledge and/or expertise.
